The Horrors nominated for the Mercury Prize!

Offset would like to congratulate this year’s headliners The Horrors on their nomination for the 2009 Mercury Prize. The award, now in its 17th year, aims to promote the best albums released in the year by British and Irish artists and is arguably the most credible and respected music nomination to receive. The Horrors’ album Primary Colours has received critical acclaim across the music press, with Drowned in Sound describing it as “wholly worth all the hype that’s attracted to its unexpected brilliance”.

Previous winners have included Primal Scream, The Arctic Monkeys, Pulp, PJ Harvey and Elbow. We wish the band the best of luck, the album is incredible. Congratulations to Sweet Billy Pilgrim, who performed at our previous festival TMF way back in 2005.

You can catch the Horrors alongside the likes of The Slits, A Certain Ratio, The Futureheads, Kap Bambino, Future of the Left, Hatcham Social, Factory Floor, Damo Suzuki and S.C.U.M at this year’s Offset - with tickets just £45 for the full weekend! Buy your tickets here.
